Today’s WSDINTKMITFT is
~Luke 14:26
“If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.”
I love my wife, child, family, even my friends, so for that to look like Hatred is A WHOLE NOTHA’ LEVEL. I need to show God that I am serious. That He is the love of my life. My one and only, so to speak, and that I love God more than anything.
Keep kicking, this one’s gonna take some work…
I need to show God I am serious = religion.
You…are going to show God, the creator of the universe, lover of souls, forgiver of sins, author and finisher of faith…you are going to show Him what exactly?

You are right, I can be driven by religion, and as I see that I kill it, but in this case my heart is
James 2:18 ~ But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
I only seek to do what God asks me to do, because I love Him and He is worthy. Not to sit back and just convince myself that "well, God knows I don't want to sin or be selfish, so that's good enough". My faith is followed by my works, and my heart is to put into practice what my heart wants; that God will be #1 in my life.
